Indiana Stonewall Democrats Endorses Marion County House Candidates

Indiana Stonewall Democrats is an organization dedicated to working with and electing LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered) friendly state legislators and other elected officials.

For the community this session there can be no other make-up in the Indiana House than a Democratic majority, and it is what every LGBT person and ally should concern themselves with. A majority for the Democrats would ensure that a Democratic Speaker of the House would then be elected. Under this scenario a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage would not be heard in the chamber and would eliminate the threat to marriage in the Hoosier state. A Republican Speaker means that such a bill would in fact be heard and the danger to the LGBT community would be real and would force it and its allies into a defense posture virtually eliminating gain on ground elsewhere.

The Indiana Stonewall Democrats have worked hard toward Democratic ideals and also within the political system. We have talked to legislators and know their positions on issues of importance to our community and state as a whole. Based upon this knowledge and with the belief that the next session of the Indiana General Assembly is vital to keeping our voices and opinions heard, the Indiana Stonewall Democrats organization is proud to endorse and promote the following Marion County Democratic house candidates for the next Indiana General Assembly:
